"Story-Time Tuesday's"

September 7th

On the first Tuesday of each month, a local celebrity comes to the zoo to read an animal story to children. This month's local celebrity reader will be Matt Johnson, News/Anchor Reporter with FOX 40. After story-time the children will engage in an arts and craft project session related to the story or animal encounter.

Grandparents Day

September 12th

This event provides free admission to 2,500-5,000 grandparents when accompanied by a paying grandchild. Community service organizations join Zoo volunteers and staff to provide an enjoyable day at the Zoo.

National Carousel Day

September 18th

Come and celebrate National Carousel Day at the Jackson Zoo with Carousel activities and ½ off rides.

Feast with the beast (Members Only)

October 1st

An exciting evening at the zoo for our 'Friends of the Zoo' members (ONLY). This evening will be invitation only and free for the entire family.

ZooParty - 'Go wild...go green'

October 16th

The “wildest party in town” includes delicious dishes from more than 15 of Jackson’s favorite restaurants, dancing the night away under the stars, and a silent auction at the Zoo. 500 special guests, including major donors, corporations and philanthropists join us for our annual gala; a top-drawer fundraising event with a different theme each year.

October 22nd-23rd

Mississippi’s Largest Trick or Treat Extravaganza! Over 50 booths will be placed around the zoo for little goblins to trick or treat from. We will have space jumps, hay rides, rock wall, Dracula’s disco and lots more! For the older monsters there will be a haunted house.
