Wild Classrooms

Are you ready for a wild time?  Come and discover more than you thought you ever could at the Jackson Zoo.  During one of our Wild Classroom programs you will do hands-on activities, play games, and maybe even meet a live animal!  All while learning more than you ever imagined!  All programs are 1 hour long, can accommodate up to 30 participates, and will be taught by an educator in an age appropriate manner.  Make your trip to the zoo more memorable by booking your program today!  Click here to see the Mississippi Science Framework supported by these programs.

Web Spinning

Want to spin a web?  First you will need the sun, and then maybe some bugs and worms. Oh, and don’t forget the alligator!  What kind of web has all of those things in it?  A food web!  There is a lot that goes into spinning one, come on out and learn how.  

 

Curious Creatures

Why don’t snakes have fur?  How come an ostrich has feathers but it doesn’t fly?  During this exploration of animals, you’ll compare and contrast, discover differences within the animal kingdom, and come away knowing more about why animals look and act the way they do.

Scheduling Policies

  • Wild Classrooms are available Monday-Saturday.
  • Programs are booked on a first come, first serve basis.
  • All programs must be booked at least two weeks in advance.
  • All programs must be paid for at least one week in advance or your program will be cancelled.
  • In the event of a cancellation made by your organization less than one week before the scheduled program date, a $25 per program processing fee will be retained by the Jackson Zoo.
  • If you arrive more than 20 minutes late for your scheduled program time, your program will be cancelled with no refund.

Prices & reservations

All prices are in addition to your zoo admission.

  • Each program is $75
  • Additional programs of the same program for the same school on the same day may be added for $55 each
