Anyone can adopt one of the wild bunch... individuals, families, school groups, scout groups or businesses. Anyone interested in assisting the Friends of the Zoo with the tremendous task of helping with the care of these great creatures can be a part of the family. So, become a monkey's uncle or take a flamingo under your wing! You can even leave the care and feeding of your new bundle of joy to the Zoo's dedicated, hard-working keeper staff. All you have to do is come visit your newest family member on a regular basis!

Five Levels of Participation

If the animal you would like to adopt is not listed, please contact the Jackson Zoo. Due to their popularity, some animals may be adopted concurrently. All adopted animals remain in the care and custody of the Jackson Zoo.

Because zoo animals are living creatures, they can become ill, die, be moved off exhibit or to other facilities. The Zoo retains the right to remove any animal from public display. If your adopted animal leaves the Zoo, dies or is moved off exhibit, your gift will still be used and appreciated for the remainder of your adoption year. Adoptions are good for one year and are renewable.

• Keeper: $25 - $49* - Photo of the animal, Certificate of Adoption, Animal Fact Sheet, Recognition on Adopt-an-Animal Sign,
• Guardian: $50-$99* - Photo of the animal, Certificate of Adoption, Animal Fact Sheet, Recognition on Adopt-an-Animal Sign, Adopt-an-Animal refrigerator magnet.
• Advocate: $100-$249* - Photo of the animal, Certificate of Adoption, Animal Fact Sheet, Recognition on Adopt-an-Animal Sign, Adopt-an-Animal refrigerator magnet, 1 one-time family pass.
• Pack Leader: $250-$499 - Photo of the animal, Certificate of Adoption, Animal Fact Sheet, Recognition on Adopt-an-Animal Sign, Adopt-an-Animal refrigerator magnet, 1 one-time family pass, Zookeeper Notes about animal, 1Wild Side t-shirt coupon.
• Ambassador: $500 and above - Photo of the animal, Certificate of Adoption, Animal Fact Sheet, Recognition on Adopt-an-Animal Sign, Adopt-an-Animal refrigerator magnet, 1 one-time family pass, Zookeeper Notes about animal, 1 Wild Side t-shirt coupon, 1 scheduled private keeper chat and tour (limit 10 people).
